Hiding safe inside shaker boxes- 1930s glass buttons used for Slovak traditional costumes still on the original paper.
They were owned by an 80 year old woman who bought them many years ago at a market in Zákopčie. She called them “magočky” (magic) buttons because of the magočkovej košele (magic shirt) that is a costume element in her area that uses these buttons. These buttons are used in the Spiš region among many other regions. For example, here are this style of button used on modern Zákopčie kroj vests:
